Betty Jane (Farrell) Wilson, 89, of Tempe, Arizona, formerly of Glenwood, IL passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016. She was born October 2, 1926, in Delia, Kansas, the daughter of Everd and Sarah (Ausherman) Farrell, and eventually moved to Topeka when she was 18 years old.
Betty married Phillip Cooper Wilson Jr. on July 12, 1947 in Topeka, Kansas. She and Phillip moved throughout the Midwest over the years, ending up back in Topeka in the 1980's. She was a member of the Christ on Greenfield Lutheran Church in Mesa, Arizona and enjoyed club level square dancing, maple syrup on her ice cream, fish, salads, sewing, cooking, reading, and listening to Christian country CD's.
Survivors include children, Larry Stephen Wilson, Linda Sue Thomas, and Lori Wilson Williams; sister, Mary Lou Remboldt; grandson, Benton Scott Wilson (Misty) and great-grandchildren, Haley and Natty. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and son-in-law, Bill Thomas.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas. Private interment will take place in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
