Betty Jean Jones, 84, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017.
She was born February 16, 1933, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Harold and Irma (Bartram) Fink.
Betty was a 1951 graduate of Manhattan High School and worked as a caretaker for the elderly for many years.
On March 2, 1954, in Ogden, she married Dale E. Blasing. They later divorced.
Betty loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and trips to the Ozarks around Branson. She also enjoyed nature and the outdoors, camping, boating, fishing, and gardening.
Survivors include children, Deborah Murphy, Beverly Blasing, Paul (Kathy) Blasing, Karen Valesano, and Tess Counts; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Larry W. Fink; niece, Hilary Fink; and many friends.
Betty was cremated. A reception will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 20, at Countryside United Methodist Church, 3221 SW Burlingame Road, Topeka, KS 66611. Memorial contributions may be made to Great Lakes Caring Hospice, 3715 SW 29th Street, Ste. 100, Topeka, Kansas 66614.
