Betty L. Crites

Betty L. Crites, 90, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2016 at Aldersgate Village in Topeka. She was born August 1, 1925 in Topeka, the daughter of Theodore L. and Opal L. (Stogsdill ) Coffman.
Betty graduated from Highland Park High School in 1942. She was employed as a Clerk Typist for Mutual of Omaha before retiring. She was a former member of Highland Park Christian Church.
Betty married Robert N. Crites on April 15, 1944. He preceded her in death on November 1, 1988. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Dwane Brown.
Survivors include their children, Kathie Brown of Carrolton, TX, Robert "Bob" (Judy) Crites of Topeka, David Crites of Kansas City, MO, Marc (Tammy) Crites of Holton, KS, Tammy McCracken of Ft. Worth, TX, ten grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and her siblings, Barbara Zart and Opal Mae Hart, both of Topeka.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2016 on the Garden Chapel at Topeka Cemetery. Burial will follow. Betty will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Good Samaritan Fund at Aldersgate Village, 7220 SW Asbury Dr., Topeka, KS 66614.
