Betty Mae Sauer, 91, Overbrook, Kansas, passed away Monday, December 7, 2015 at Brookside Retirement Community in Overbrook.
Betty was born July 26, 1924 in Mansfield, OH, the daughter of Sylvester and Loda (Hull) Sims. She graduated from Mansfield High School.
She was employed as a Laundry manager with the Salvation Army Hospital in Cleveland, OH and along with her husband, owned and operated laundromats in Cleveland.
Betty married Michael J. Sauer on December 10, 1942 in Norwalk OH. He survives. Other survivors include sons, Michael D. (Kathy) Sauer, Harveyville, KS, David A. (Antonia) Sauer, South Euclid, OH; grandsons, Michael L. (Kelly) Sauer, Matthew T. (Carrie) Sauer; and great-grandchildren, Dillon L. Sauer and Molly E. Sauer. She was preceded in death by 6 brothers, Marion, Philbert, Delbert, Dale, Gale and Gene Sims.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road, Topeka, KS. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Berryton, KS. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday evening.
