Betty M. McCown, 92, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born August 30, 1928 in Wakarusa, Kansas, the daughter of Raymond Lida (Frye) Owens.
Betty was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church.
Betty married Donald E. McCown on May 17, 1947 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on November 4, 1997.
Survivors include three sons, Donald M. McCown, John W. McCown and Ronald M. McCown, three daughters, Linda M. Turnbow, Kathy L. Michael and Robbie Ann Pennington all of Topeka, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, her sister, Helen Zeferjohn of Missouri and her two furry friends, Darcy and Ashley.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2020 at Memorial Park Cemetery. Betty will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. Masks and social distancing must be observed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Good Samaritan Fund at McCrite Plaza, 1610 SW 37th St., Topeka, Kansas 66611.
