Betty Jo Penney, 95, of Topeka, passed away Monday, October 18, 2021.
She was born June 27, 1926, in Columbus, Ohio the daughter of James Florin and Goldie (Kughn) Selover. She received a bachelor's degree from Ohio State University.
Survivors include her daughters, Becky Capoccia of Leawood, KS, and Cindy Curwick of Fresno, CA; grandchildren Brian Curwick, Jennifer Curwick, Ben Capoccia, Nick Capoccia, and Ted Capoccia; eight great-grandchildren.
Betty enjoyed reading, teaching, family, international travel, baking, and KU basketball.
Betty was cremated. A private service will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library, 515 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, KS 66604.
