Bettye Hunter Harris, 83, Topeka, formerly of Memphis, TN, passed away at home Sunday, February 7, 2016.
She is survived by her 3 children: Doug (Lori) Gill, Kay (Don) Phillips, Cayce (Adrianna) Harris; her brother, Bill (Shirley) Hunter, and her 6 grandchildren: David and Dana Gill, Hunter, Daniel, and Matthew Phillips, and Lucille Harris.
Bettye was born on July 22, 1932 in Nashville, TN, the daughter of William Dempse and Dana Cayce Hunter. She worked for American Airlines and as a travel agent in Nashville and Memphis, and at the Greyhound Bus Terminal in Topeka, KS.
She enjoyed travelling, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the 17th Street Church of Christ.
Bettye was cremated and will be inturned with her husband, James O. Harris in Collierville, TN.
Services will be held Thursday 2/18/16 at 11:00 am at Ward-Meade Park Botanical Gardens, 124 NW Fillmore St, Topeka, KS 66606 in the historic church building on site.
