Beulah I. Markley, 82, of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born November 22, 1928 Aliceville, KS, the daughter of Arthur and Martha Marie Highley Hunter.
Beulah graduated from Garnett High School in 1946. She resided in Topeka for most of her life. Beulah was employed by Henry Manufacturing Company and Neely Farm Equipment. She later was employed by Josten's Yearbook Company before retiring in 1992. She was a member of East Side Baptist Church.
Beulah married Glen D. Markley on August 30, 1948 in Topeka. They were married for 62 years. He survives. Other survivors include two sons; Stephen G. (Suellen) Markley of Berryton, Kevin L. (Cindy) Markley of Wakarusa, four grandsons; Allen, Jason, Brent and Corey, five great-grandchildren; Dalton, Alayna, Hailey, Alissa and Caiden, two sisters; Juanita Godsey of Topeka, Opal (Jay) Bradley of Waverly and two brothers; Gerald (Lola) Hunter of Topeka and Clayton (Verla) Hunter of Hoyt.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Beulah will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
