Beverly M. Childs, 84, of Silver Lake, Kansas passed away Jan. 14, 2013. She was born at Omaha, Nebraska to Edmond and Helen (Dunn) Rohde on December 25, 1928. She was raised in Omaha and graduated from Benson High School. She married William A. Childs on April 27, 1957.
She was employed by Fleming Foods as a secretary and retired in 1990. She was a member of Forbes Ladies Golf Club, Western Hills Ladies Golf Club, and the Miniature Club in Topeka. She enjoyed golfing, painting, miniatures, crossword puzzles, flower gardening and her grandchildren's activities.
She is survived by her husband, William; two sons, David A. Childs (Doris Fitzpatrick) and William F. Childs (Jerri); a daughter, Debra L. Childs; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, her daughter, Diane Burt and her grandson, Logan Parmley.
A celebration of life visitation will be held Friday, January 18, 2013 at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service from 2-4PM.
