Beverly Dean Day

Beverly Dean Day, 79, of Topeka, passed away on April 17, 2024 at home.

He was born on December 15, 1944 to Leslie and Doris (Giger) Day in Council Grove, Kansas.

Dean attended Bushong Grade School, and in 1962 graduated from Northern Heights High School. He graduated with a BS degree from Kansas State Teachers College (Emporia, KS) in 1967; and in 1970 earned his MS of Science.

For 13 years he was an educator teaching business and accounting courses at Hesston High School. He then worked in the Credit Department at Hesston Corporation. This was followed with his role as Business Instructor at Hesston College in 1988. He then returned to AGCO as Benefits Manager and retired in 2009.

On December 27, 1976 he married Maria A. Beun in Smithville, OH. Dean and Maria resided in Hesston, Kansas for 47 years of their married life, and in September 2023 moved to Topeka, Kansas.

Dean was a member of Hesston Mennonite Church, and was very active in the Hesston Lions Club.

Dean is survived by his wife Maria, son James (Annie Flachsbarth), grandchildren Emry, Delaney, Blake, and Molly and Emma Flachsbarth, brother Don (Carole) Day, and the families of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents L.C. and Doris Day, and brother Bruce (Joleen) Day.

A private family burial will be held at Bushong Cemetery (Bushong, KS) at a later date.

A celebration of Dean's life will be scheduled at a later date in Hesston, KS.
