Billie F. Godbold, 85, of Tecumseh, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born December 19, 1929 in Denison, TX, the daughter of William Edward and Eliza Jane Coffman Singleton.
Billie had resided in Topeka since 1969 with her husband. She was a member of the Tecumseh United Methodist Church and the Delta Theta Chi Sorority. Billie supported local arts in the high schools and various theatre organizations throughout Topeka. She also donated her time during the enrollment at the Washburn University Bookstore helping students get all of their supplies for the year.
Billie married Charles W. Godbold on December 20, 1947 in Denison, TX. He survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Landie Maxwell of Westlake, OH, one son, Larry Godbold of Irvine, CA, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one sister, Mary Gregory of Fort Worth, TX and her half-brother, James Oney of Celeste, TX.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at the Tecumseh United Methodist Church. Private inurnment will take place at a later date. Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel is assisting the family.
