Billy C. Kelley, 72, Topeka, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at a local care center.
Bill was born February 10, 1936 in Pendleton, Texas the son of Marvin and Ruby (Grisham) Kelley.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1955 to 1959. He worked in tire production at Goodyear in Topeka for 30 years, retiring in 1991.
He was a member of Crestview United Methodist Church; Assistant Boy Scout leader for Troop 7; coached girls and boys in the Ken Berry Ball League.
He was an avid gardener and sportsman.
Bill married Darlene Warren on October 4, 1957 in Honolulu, Hawaii. She survives. Other survivors include son; Karl Kelley and wife Cindy, Rossville; daughters, Kay Usrey and husband, Mike and Janet Kelley, Topeka; grandchildren, Sarah and Sheryl Usrey, Haley and Dalton Kelley; great grandson, Aaron Vines-Birk; brother, Bob; and sisters, Annie, Nora, Glenda, Jean, Barbara, Nell, all of Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Ray and Leonard.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Crestview United Methodist Church. Private family inurnment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
