Billy Killingsworth

February 17, 1929 — September 11, 2014

Bill passed away on September 11, 2014. He was born on February 17, 1929, the son of John Henry and Lula Killingsworth in McCrory, Arkansas. Bill served 35 years in the US Air Force, retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant. He married Marian Teter on July 3, 1952. Bill was cremated.

He is survived by his wife; four children, Debbie (Rick) Dunkin, Scott (Mary) Killingsworth, Lisa (Darrel) Hansford, Suzanne Anderson; seven grandchildren, Jim (Tanya) Leuty, Stacey Dunkin, Trudy (Brett) Hoss, Justin (Ashley) Killingsworth, Andy Hansford, Cassie (Josiah) Dierker, and Lauren DeGraff; great- grandchildren, Shyenne Leuty, Dakota Leuty, Brenna Leuty, Will Hoss, Henry Hoss, Aidan Killingsworth, Able Killingsworth, and Lawrence Smith; and Baby Dierker due in Feburary, Bill's birth month.

A celebration of his life will be on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Countryside Christian Church, at 3635 NE Highway K4, visitation at 1:00PM, service 2:00PM, followed by graveside Military Honors at Rochester Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Countryside Christian Church Youth Group or Midland Hospice.

Bill loved to talk and never met a stranger. He would try to help anyone in need. He could remember your name, as well as all of your kid's names and ages. He always had a funny story to tell about things he and his brothers did, or with people like Pea Vine, Bill-Jack, and E. B.

He loved to hunt, train his hunting dogs and raise pheasants and quail. He had so many dogs over his life that the family jokes they would all be waiting, tails wagging when he reached the pearly gates! He loved football and spending time with his kids and grandkids. Whether it was an elephant ride at the fair, or taking them fishing and spending most of his time getting bobbers and hooks out of trees! There were many times he took the grandkids to swap meets where they talked him into many pets.

Every kid and grandkid has their favorite dad or grandpa story. He was always proud of their accomplishments and encouraged them that they could do anything they set out to do with hard work and dedication.
