Billy Bert Moore passed away May 16, 2019, at home in Topeka.
He was born July 2, 1927, to Willard and Elizabeth "Marie" (Perry) Moore in rural Burlingame, Kansas. He was the fourth eldest of ten children.
He married Phyllis Parker on February 17, 1950, at Lyndon, Kansas. Following his marriage, they moved to Wichita, Kansas, where their three children were born. In 1959, the family moved to Leavenworth, Kansas, where Bill was a foreman for Phyllis' father's construction company. In 1966, the family moved to Topeka, Kansas. Bill and Phyllis bought a farm near Dover, Kansas in the 1970s, and lived on that farm for more 45 years.
Bill was a residential home builder for most of his life, building many homes in southwest Shawnee County. He loved fishing and spent many, many hours in every kind of weather fishing with his best friend, Don Northcraft. In later years, he began collecting and making clocks, so that his children began to call him Giupetto. He had an incredible sense of humor, and a very kind and giving nature, helping everyone in whatever way he could. "He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it."
He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; son, Reginald Bert Moore; and by siblings: Marguerite Strange; Marjorie Raff; and Ralph, Richard, and Mary Helen Moore.
Bill is survived by: daughter Philicia McKee of Topeka; son Galen Moore of Topeka; daughter-in-law Vicki Moore of Paola; six grandchildren, William (Nina) Moore of Olathe, Kansas; Kiel Moore of Lenexa, Kansas; Ashley Moore of Olathe, Kansas; Shannon Moore of Overland Park, Kansas; Lacey McKee of Topeka; and Richard "Michael" McKee of Oklahoma City. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren Olivia and Henry Moore; and siblings: Marilyn Riley, Marlene Keck, Glenn Moore, and Marloyane McCarter.
