Minister Birda L. Lee, (Johnson), 89, residing in Topeka, KS went to her heavenly home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. Birda Lee was born June 29, 1935 in Grant, Oklahoma; the daughter of Sam and Hattie (Dangerfield) Johnson. 

She graduated from Booker T. High School in Oklahoma and attended Western Bible College in Topeka, KS. Minster Lee owned and operated Wee Care Day Care for many years and later participated in a foster grandparent program for KNI.

Minister Birda Lee was a member of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church. After serving as a minister for many years; the Lord called her to pastoring her own congregation. Reverend Birda Lee pastored Pentacostal Missionary Baptist Church for years before retiring.

Birda was married to Elmer L. Lee, Jr. He preceded her in death as well as her children, Marla C. Nichols and Floyd A. Lee.

Left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Linda M. Lee of Topeka, two grandchildren, Cherita Morris-Huggins(Larry) and Channing Lee, her siblings, Bernice McDonald(Nixon), Edith Bruce(Leroy), Minnie Nelson(Albert), Oltha Latimore(Dollie), Peter Latimore(Wanda), Paul Latimore(Faye), Beloved sister-in-law Alice Lee, Loved daughter-in-law Alicia, and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

A Celebration of Reverend Birda Lee’s Life will be held at Faith Temple Church, 1162 SW Lincoln St, Topeka, KS, on November 2nd, 2024 at 11am.

Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
