Bobby R. Bowen

Bobby R. Bowen, 93, of Berryton, Kansas, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024. He was born February 24, 1931 in Richland, Kansas, the son of Roy Silas and Daisy Belle (Scheer) Bowen.

Bobby graduated from Berryton High School in 1949. He was an Air Force Veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was employed as an Assistant Supervisor of the floor at the U.S. Postal Service Jayhawk Station in Lawrence for 31 years before retiring. He was a member of the Clinton Presbyterian Church, Fidelity Chapter No. 38 of the O.E.S., Albert-Neese Masonic Lodge No., 248 and the American Legion Post No. 391 at Richland.

Bobby married Barbara J. Clough on September 17, 1950 in Clinton, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include children, Jan A. (Chuck) Morgan of Topeka, Joseph L. Bowen of Topeka, eight grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren.

Bobby was preceded in death by one son, Jay R. Bowen, grandson, C.W. Morgan, his sister, Beverly Nicholson and his daughter-in-law, Nancy A. Bowen.

Graveside inurnment services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 28, 2024 in Clinton Cemetery southeast of Topeka. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Clinton Presbyterian Church, 590 N. 1200 Rd., Clinton, Kansas 66047.
