Bobby Lee Wood

Bobby Lee Wood, 63, Topeka, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2009, at the V.A. Medical Center. He was born May 31, 1946 at Gideon, Missouri, the son of James Herman and Madgeleene "Meg" Wood. He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Keith; and a sister, Thersa.
Bob graduated from Sikeston High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1965-1968 where he was a Staff Sergeant and served one tour of duty in Vietnam. Bob worked as a territorial manager and retired from U.S. Foodservice. He volunteered for the Veterans Chaplain Services, with the Program Support Assistant.
Surviving are his wife, Marva Anne; sons James (Missie), Austin (Staci), Ben (Jandy); and seven grandchildren, Gavin, Bailey, Bridget, Mahayla, Maria, Cason, and Jeannie: brothers; Freeman (Trisha), Dannie (Joan), and Aaron; and sisters; Brenda (Marion), Faye, and Ramona (Markel).
Bob requested cremation. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm, Tuesday October 13, at the Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center Chapel, 2200 S.W. Gage Blvd, Topeka, KS 66622. Dove Funeral Home is assisting the family with the cremation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center Chapel.
