Bonnie Jean Roman

December 13, 1928 — March 11, 2015

Bonnie Jean Roman, 86, Topeka, passed away on March 11, 2015 at Aldersgate Village with her family at her side. She was born on December 13, 1928, in Lebanon, Kansas, the daughter of Rex and Thelma (Lannigan) Relihan.

Bonnie was a homemaker, but also worked outside of the home as a Red Cross Volunteer at Forbes Hospital and later worked in retail.

On May 14, 1949, she married Stanley F. Roman, a WWII veteran. He preceded her in death on April 1, 1999. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Kathlyn Weakly, Marjorie Hisel and Betty Bracken, one brother, Garth Relihan, daughter-in-law, Debora Roman and son-in-law, Carl Oyer.

Survivors include two sons, Michael Roman of Brandon, Florida and Steve (Vicky) Roman of Freeburg, Illinois; two daughters, Karen (Wil) Leiker of Topeka and Nancy Oyer of Waynesboro, Virginia; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, March 16, 2015 at the Mount Hope Chapel, 4700 SW 17th Street, Topeka, Kansas, with burial to follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 3625 Southwest 29th Street #102, Topeka, KS 66614.
