Brenda Kay Reddell age 61, of Eskridge, Kansas passed away August 23, 2018. Brenda was born January 17, 1957, at Ottawa, Kansas, the daughter of Evan and Vernita Bishop. She was united in marriage on June 20, 1997 to Garry Alan Reddell at Elk Falls, Kansas.
Brenda graduated from Kinsley High School with the class of 1975. After graduation she went to California where her beloved Uncle Harry and Aunt Olive resided. She worked in the shipyard handling maritime logistics. During this period in her life, her son Morgan was born. She moved back to Kansas to raise her son. She landed in Meriden, Kansas where she met the love of her life, Garry Reddell and his son Brandon. Marcus "UBers" was born four years later. She devoted her life to Garry and her boys. Brenda's world revolved around her family and above all she cherished her grandsons.
She was employed by Jefferson West school district and BNSF in Topeka. The past 21 years she has worked for USDA Veterinary Services as an animal health technician. Her love of her work was second only to her family! She made life long friendships with her co-workers which she cherished dearly.
Some of her hobbies included camping with her family, enjoying the outdoors and she was a great cook. Fried chicken was her specialty! Brenda had an incredibly huge heart and would do anything for anyone including the neighborhood kids she raised as her own.
Survivors include her loving husband, Garry of 30 years, sons: Morgan Thomes (Kelli) of Ozawkie, Brandon Reddell of Lawrence and Marcus Reddell (Andrea) of Ozawkie; mother, Vernita Bishop of Meriden; two grandsons: Peyton and Braylen Thomes; two sisters: Sandy Irby (Dale) of Zwolle, LA and Chris Midgley (Sam) of Meriden; one brother Jeff Bishop of Severy, KS; and many nieces and nephews that loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her father, Evan Bishop.
Funeral services will be held Thursday August 30, 2018 at 10:00 am at Dove Cremations & Funerals - Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker, Topeka where the family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 pm Wednesday August 29. Interment will take place at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas at 1:00 pm August 30, 2018
