Byron J. Roblyer, 66, of Topeka, passed away suddenly on Friday, May 11, 2007 at a Topeka hospital. He was born on January 18, 1941, the son of Ernest and Georgia Brooks Roblyer. He graduated from Kansas State University in 1963 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. After graduating from college, he worked for Harold Goodman Accounting. He was then employed by Seymour Foods for many years, and he retired from Payless ShoeSource in 2000. He was a member of First Lutheran Church. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed working in his yard. He was a loyal fan of Kansas State University athletics and was devoted to his family. He was proud of his grandchildren, and they were a big part of his life. He thoroughly enjoyed watching them compete in a variety of athletic events. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Glen and Keith Roblyer. Byron married Velma G. Peterson on February 11, 1962 in Leonardville, KS. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Cathy Buchanan and husband, Alan of Manhattan, Janelle Wade of Pittsburg and three grandchildren, Jessica and Bryan Wade and Connor Buchanan. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church. Graveside committal services will take place at 3:00 p.m. at Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan. Byron will lie in state after 4:00 p.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to First Lutheran Church, 1234 S.W.
