C. E. "Punk" Simpson, Jr., 73, Topeka, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2009 at Aldersgate Village.
Punk was born August 25, 1936 in Topeka, the son of Clarence E. and Mildred (Spangler) Simpson, Sr. He graduated from Topeka High School.
He retired from Santa Fe Railroad as an Accounting clerk. He also worked for the Shawnee County Sheriff's Department.
Punk was married to Donna Denzler. They later divorced. Survivors include son, C.E. "Punkie" (Teri) Simpson; daughter, Lori (Jay) Uhlrich, all of Topeka; He later married Val Sommars. Survivors include sons, Bobby Sommars, Topeka, Shane (Brenda) Sommars, St. Marys; daughter, Niki (Keith) Krupp, Michigan; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and his sister, Patricia Corbin.
Memorial services will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until the time of service. Private family inurnment will be in Rochester Cemetery.
