Candido Jimenez, Jr., 89, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2017, in Topeka, KS.
Candido was born November 1, 1927, in Baja Vega, Puerto Rico, to Candido Jimenez, Sr. and Maximina Josefina (Melendez) Jimenez. He served three years in the US Army during the Korean War. Candido was a business man and an educator.
He is survived by his five children, Candido Jimenez III of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Janette Acevedo of Martinez, Georgia, Sonya Jimenez of Martinez, Georgia, Jaime (Francisca) Jimenez of Topeka, and Jose Jimenez of Martinez, Georgia; three grandsons, Orlando Acevedo, Erik Ruark and Patrick Ruark; and great-granddaughter, Veida Acevedo.
Candido was preceded in death by his wife, Noemi Jimenez.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 27, 2017, at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave, Topeka. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
