Carl E. "Ed" Hamsher, Jr., 66, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2020. He was born June 4, 1954 in Parsons, Kansas, the son of Carl E. and Marvis (Franklin ) Hamsher, Sr.
Ed graduated from Parsons High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Washburn University. He was employed as a Social Worker by Parsons State Hospital and the Menninger Foundation.
Ed married Joy Olinger on November 10, 1978 in Miami, Oklahoma. They later divorced.
Survivors include one son, Jared (Laura) Hamsher of Topeka, one grandson, Treyton and his two brothers, John Hamsher of Parsons, Kansas and Bernie Hamsher of Chanute, Kansas.
As per Ed's wishes, cremation has taken place and no memorial services are planned. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 S.W. 21st St., Topeka, Kansas 66604.
