Carl Manfred Magnuson, 88, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019.
He was born November 2, 1930, in Rockland, Maine, the son of Walfred Sven and Tholinda (Bgork) Magnuson. He was a 1948 graduate of Waukesha South High School Waukesha, Wisconsin. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Carl was a draftsman and mechanical designer and retired from Harley Davidson Motorcycles in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Carl married Karen Sue (Damme) Wheeler on November 1, 2013 in Topeka. She survives of the home. Other survivors include a daughter, Christina (Bradford) Reed, Columbus, OH; three grandchildren, Micah Flory, Lily Flory and Landon Hayes; and a sister, Viv Magnuson, Topeka.
Carl was an avid golfer. He enjoyed the outdoors and lived a very active life. He also loved playing chess and cribbage, cooking, gardening, reading and was a very loving, gentle, kind, soft spoken person who was very knowledgeable.

Honoring Carl's request, cremation is planned.
A Memorial reception will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the Dove Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road.
