Carol Ann Huffman

July 9, 1954 — June 12, 2021

Carol Ann Huffman passed away peacefully at her home in Berryton, Kansas on Saturday, June 12, 2021 after a courageous 2 year battle with brain cancer. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri on July 9, 1954 to Tom and Betty Barlow. She grew up in Overland Park, Kansas where she met the love of her life, Dale Huffman.

They had two children, Jesse of Olathe and Becky of Topeka. They also have two grandchildren, Jordan and Jessica. Carol has two brothers, Tom (Bridget) Barlow of Tahlequah, Oklahoma and Bill (Noreen) Barlow of Dunedin, Florida. Other family member include her sister-in-law, Peggy (Allen) Fach of Lenexa, Kansas and multiple nieces and nephews whom meant the world to Carol.

Carol was preceded in death by her sister, Linda and brother-in-law, Mike Bell.

Carol's professional career included Broadway Collections, American Eagle, and TARC. She was employed as an office manager for Maximus Medical. There, she was very proud of her ability to help other become more successful.

Raising a child with special needs, Carol understood the importance of compassion, patience and guidance. Carol was a strong advocate for inclusion and the least restrictive environment. She worked hard to improve Becky's opportunities as well as helping others to improve their lives. She dedicated her life to this mission and they included two terms as president of Families Together and two terms on the Board of Directors of TARC in Topeka.

Carol went on several mission trips to a special needs school in Lima, Peru (CASP) and was able to share her experiences with other parents about how to advocate for the children and help them achieve the most out of their lives.

One of the most constant comments for those who knew Carol was her positive attitude towards life and her beautiful smile. She was truly beautiful inside and out and will be forever missed.

Part of her wishes was that they be no sadness in her passing and she wished instead that there be a party! To honor those wishes, there will be a "Celebration of Life" at the Stull United Methodist Church Faith and Friendship Center, 1596 E. 250th Rd., Lecompton, Kansas 66050 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 21, 2021 with a special guest speaker at 3:00 p.m.

The family would like to thank all of the people who provided support on Carol's journey. We truly believe that the love and encouragement everyone provided allowed for us to spend more time with this beautiful person.

Memorial contributions in memory of Carol can be made to the Stull United Methodist Church.

Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family.
