Carole "Diane" Gentry, 81, Topeka, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.
Diane grew up in Clay Center, KS. She received her bachelor's degree from Kansas State University, Masters at the University of Wisconsin, and a Ph.D from the University of Kansas.
She loved animals and nature, especially the Colorado Rocky Mountains; where she spent summers as a child with her family. She would continue as a youth camp counselor at Cheley Camps during her college years. Throughout her lifetime, blessed her friends and family with the gift of adventure and the beauty of Colorado; hiking, camping, Jeep trails, and whitewater; year after year. She taught us that family doesn't mean bloodline. She was without a doubt a mother to Mary & Raymond; a grandmother to their children, Malcomb, Grace & Sophie; and a great-great-grandmother to Cordie, Ryder, Tempe and Halden. She was a best friend, adventurous soul, a companion and caregiver to all. We were all loved and looked after.
Every time we feel the cool crisp mountain air, we'll know you are there. Until we meet again, goodbye, we love you and miss you.
