Cassie Nicole "Otter" Ralston, 8, of Scranton, went to be with her Lord after passing away in her Daddy's arms on Monday, November 11, 2019.
She was born June 27, 2011, in Topeka, the daughter of Terry and Becky (Thornton) Ralston. She was a third grader at Overbrook Attendance Center.
Survivors include her parents; two sisters, Sarah and Olivia; her canine hero, Ivan; her horde of cats; her hamster Jack; maternal grandfather, Bill Thornton; paternal grandparents, Kathy Frisbie, Myrtle Beach, SC, Mel Frisbie, Prescott Valley, AZ; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Betty Thornton; and paternal grandfather, Terry P. Ralston, Sr.
From the moment anyone held her, they were immediately wrapped around her little finger. She was a miracle, she was a light, and she brought so much joy to every single person she met. Cassie was the "certified cat whisperer" and the best singer in the house. She was a beautiful daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend. Eight years is not long enough for so many things, but it is enough to leave an impact on so many. And it is enough to leave a hole that nothing will ever fill. Cassie lived fearlessly, unapologetically, and covered in rainbows and glitter. Her genuine excitement for living will never be lost, nor will her beautiful sunshiney soul. Cassie was likely to be a wonderful, much sought after famous commentator, as she loved to talk and give the constant rundown of everything she was doing to anyone who was around. Cassie planned to serve her community by following in her daddy's footsteps and pursuing a career in the emergency services. She proudly served her community as a Burlingame Fire Cadet (Junior). Her beautiful caramel eyes and freckles will be missed. Remember today is the "best day ever!"
Cremation is planned. A celebration of Cassie's life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka. The family encourages those attending to wear Red or anything Disney.
To honor Cassie's love of animals, contributions may be made to the Friends of the Topeka Zoo, 635 SW Gage Blvd., Topeka, KS 66606 or to Warriors Best Friend, P.0. Box 1432, Liberty, Missouri 64069.
