Cathy Mae Vetaw of Topeka, KS passed away December 10, 2003. She was born in Oswego, KS on
August 26, 1955 to Levi E. Vetaw and Helen L. Caldwell. Cathy attended Independence, KS. Schools and was baptized at Maple Street Baptish Church in Independence.
Cathy married Eddie Thomas in Chicago, Illinois. They were divorced. She married Gerry Sherman in Topeka. They were divorced. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Left to cherish her memory are sons Gregory Vetaw, Minneapolis, MN, Jerome Vetaw and Stephen Vetaw of Topeka and daughter Lynette Sherman of Topeka. She will be missed by her brothers; Vernon Caldwell, Oklahoma City, OK, Levi Vetaw, Jr. of Chicago, IL, Harold Caldwell of Coffeyville, KS, Robert Caldwell of Parsons, KS, Rodney Vetaw of St. Louis, MO, Antwan Vetaw of Tulsa, OK, Kenneth Caldwell of Independence, KS. and Ray Caldwell of Kansas City, KS and her sisters; Bertha Le Flore of Ada, OK, Rozene Vetaw of Winslow, AZ, Helen Williams of Minneapolis, MN, Leslie Vetaw of Topeka, Denise Vetaw of Wichita, KS, Terry Vetaw of Minnesota, Joyce Johnson of Indiana, and Brenda Vetaw of Minneapolis, MN, her daughter-in-law, Shawana and six grandchildren. She also leaves to cherish her memory her companion, Stanley Johnson of Topeka and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Private inurnment will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Lynette Sherman Trust Fund c/o Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, 2843 S.E. Minnesota Ave., Topeka, KS 66605.
