Cecelia A. Trulson, 92, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at a Topeka care facility. She was born on March 3, 1918 in Matawan, MN, the daughter of Jack and Alice Dinnen Murphy. Cecelia obtained a Masters degree in administration from Redlands Community College in Redlands, CA. She served as Director of Nursing for the San Bernardino County Psychiatric Unit in San Bernardino, CA. She was of the Catholic faith and active in the Catholic Daughters Association and the San Bernardino Retirees Association. She moved to Wamego, KS in 2001 and has resided in Topeka since 2003.
Cecelia married Hank Trulson in Portland, OR. He preceded her in death in 1952. She was also preceded in death by one son; Barry Trulson in 2003, four sisters, one brother and her sister-in-law. Survivors include one son; Dale "Pat" (Barbara) Trulson of Westminster, CA, daughter-in-law; Jan Trulson of Carbondale, KS, one grandson; Kenneth Trulson, P.A., of Mountainview, CA, one granddaughter; Cathleen Trulson of Kenna, LA and one brother; Cy (Eileen) Murphy of Upland, CA.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in Mount Hope Cemetery. Cecelia will not lie in state. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Heart of America Hospice, 3715 S.W. 29th St., Topeka, Kansas 66614 or Sacred Heart/St. Joseph Parish, 312 N.E. Freeman St., Topeka, Kansas 66616. Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
