Cecelia Alexander

Cecelia E. Alexander, 88, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at a Rossville care facility. She was born on December 26, 1916 in Topeka, the daughter of Job and Iva Strauchon Little. She lived most of her life in Topeka. She was a homemaker. She married Charles J. Alexander on January 27, 1936. He preceded her in death on May 25, 1993. Survivors include two daughters, Rosa Charlene Alexander of San Antonio, TX, Carolyn J. Merckling of Topeka, one son, Darrell R. Alexander of Berryton, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, five brothers and three sisters. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Mount Hope Cemetery. Burial will follow. Mrs. Alexander will lie in state after Noon Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday evening. The casket will reman closed. Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Associaiton, 515 S. Kansas Ave., Suuite B-2, Topeka, KS 66603 or to the KSU Cancer Center, 1 Chalmers Hall, Manhattan, KS 66506-3901.
