Cecilia Crummey, 76, of Lyndon, Kansas lost her four year battle with breast cancer on February 1, 2018. She was born in Topeka, Kansas to Cecil Martindale, a high school principal and cattle farmer, and Vivian (Albright) Martindale, a K-State beauty queen and teacher, on November 1, 1941. She grew up in Onaga, Kansas and received her Master's degree in Education from K-State University. Cecilia taught home economics, substitute taught chemistry and helped with the basketball team.
She owned Kiddicat Daycare for over 30 years. She loved children and their parents. Daycare was her life; working 12 hour days until just recently. Cecilia was the nicest most caring person on this planet and would do anything for anyone.
She married William Crummey on June 29, 1963. He preceded her in death. She attended Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Topeka and St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Osage City where she served as a lay minister.
Cecilia is survived by her children: son, Mike Crummey and his wife Karie, their children: Kirsten, Payton and his wife Robyn, Tyler, and their grandchild Felicity; daughter, Jennifer Crummey, her children: Anthony and Kristina, and her grandchildren: Amelisa, Brandon, Noah, Elizabeth and Avram; son, Mark Crummey and his grandchildren: Emma and Nick; daughter, Susan Duggins and her husband Dana, and their children Alicia and Jessika.
A funeral mass will be recited at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Osage City, Kansas on February 10, 2108. A rosary will be prayed beginning at 10:00 a.m. prior to the mass.
