Ceona Ruth Michaelson, 91, of Topeka, Kansas passed away May 31, 2016. She and her twin were born January 29, 1925 to Jacob and Zelma Brey. She grew up in Ozawkie and graduated from Ozawkie High School.
Ceona was employed by Santa Fe Railroad for 9 years. She married George Michaelson on October 16, 1949 at Ozawkie. She was the last surviving charter member of Countryside UMC. For many years she was a member of the Stormont-Vail Hospital Auxiliary and volunteered for other service organizations as well. She served on the Kansas Election Board as an election precinct supervisor for many years. For 30 years she and Polly Meyer, her late business partner, were well known for their estate sales.
Ceona is survived by her son Alan Michaelson, of Topeka; four brothers: Alfred O. Brey of Sabetha, her twin, Charles L. Brey of Oskaloosa, Dale D. Brey of Topeka, and Eldon R. Brey of Oskaloosa: her sister, Belva M. Fox of Overland Park; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her sister Loreta Zwygart.
