Charles E. "Wild Ed" Seals, 64, of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2005 at a Topeka hospital. He was born on January 7, 1941 in Shreveport, LA, the son of James Ernest and Mary Jean Neatherlin Seals. He was an Air Force veteran servng at Forbes Air Force Base. He was a customer service representative for IBM in Topeka and Texas and was later employed as an electronic technician for Northrop Grumman in 1981 before retiring in January of 2005. Eddie was a member of Highland Heights Christian Church, American Legion Capitol Post. No. 1 where he served as past post commander and a life member of the V.F.W. He married Cheryl J. Meek on July 11, 1964 in Topeka. They were divorced. Survivors include one son, Richard D. Seals of Topeka, one daughter, Tammy L. Seals of Topeka, two granddaughters, Samantha and Hanah Seals, one niece and two nephews all of Texas, and companion Millie Kent of Topeka. He was preceded in death by father, mother and his step-father, D. Q. Clay, one brother and one sister. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Highland Heights Christian Church. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
