Charles Ketterman

Charles J. Kettterman, 78, of Wakarusa, died Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at Midland Hospice House. He was born April 29, 1930 in Brownton, West Virginia, the son of Charles and Ariona Ketterman.

Charles grew up in Brownton, and moved to Topeka in 1949 where he was stationed at Forbes Air Force Base. After the Air Force, he worked in construction and as a carpenter for the last 20 years in Topeka. He was a member of Carpenter's Union Local #1445, Topeka, KS, and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Charles married Mary Jo Colhour on December 31, 1949 in Topeka. She survives. He is also survived by two sons, Michael Ketterman of Overbrook KS, and Roy Dean (Vickie) Ketterman of Topeka; by a brother, Ray Ketterman, and a sister, Beulah Ketterman, of West Virginia, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and six sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, April 10, 2009, at Dove Funeral Home, 4020 SW Sixth Ave. Topeka, KS 66606. Interment will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. No visitation is planned. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice House, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS, or The Seventh Day Adventists Church, 2435 SW Wanamaker Rd. Topeka, KS 66614.
