Charles R. Potter, 67, Topeka, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005 at Midland Hospice House.
He was born Aug. 22, 1938 in Topeka, the son of Edwin and Dorothy Love Potter. He was raised in Camden, New Jersey, graduating from Camden High School.
Mr. Potter worked as a truck driver for Bennett's Meat Company, and later owned and operated a medical transportation business. Following his retirement in 1990, he moved back to Topeka. He worked as a bus driver for Auburn-Washburn school district #437 and for Topeka school district #501.
He was a professional gospel singer, and was the lead singer of Just Gospel.
He married Shirley Kee in Camden. She survives.
Other survivors include 10 children, 26 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday at Newcomer Family Funeral Home, followed by a visitation until 4:00 pm.
