Charles Sprouse, Sr, 78, of Tecumseh, passed away Friday, December 2, 2016 at a Highland, Kansas care facility. He was born May 22, 1938 in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, the son of Scott E. and Helen (Anderson) Sprouse.
Charles was an Air Force Veteran. He owned and operated Sprouse Construction Company.
Charles married Lorene F. McDowell on July 5, 1960 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include children, Donna J. Ridgeway of Topeka, Deborah C. Trekell of Topeka, Charles Sprouse, Jr. of Tecumseh, six grandchildren, Doreen (Keith) Brown, DeLaine L. Traphagen, Michael Strandberg, Jr., Charles (Tricia) Sprouse, III, Jenna (Josh) Beuerlein, Shandy (Leah) Trekell, seven great-grandchildren, Kyle Brown, Kasey Brown, Caleb Baber, John-Paul Sprouse, Maria Sprouse, Jeralyn Beuerlein and Kolbe Sprouse and his siblings, Joyce Forsythe and Johnny Sprouse.
Charles was preceded in death by his daughter, Sondra McDowell on January 3, 2016 and his niece, Paula Forsythe.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery where Military Honors will be presented by an Air Force Honor Guard Unit from Whiteman Air Force Base, Knob Noster, Missouri.
