Charles Tavis Taylor

Charles Tavis Taylor, 81, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away January 6, 2016. He was born on January 12, 1934 at Kansas City, Missouri to Tavis and Mae Kelly Taylor.
He served his country in the US Army during the late 1950's. Before his retirement, he was employed by Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.
He is survived by his children: Carl Taylor, Michael Taylor, Jackie Taylor, Eric Taylor and Derrick Taylor, all of Topeka, Shelly Taylor Heggie of Kansas City, Kansas, and Vanessa Taylor of Checotah, OK; a host of Grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brother, Jerry Gunn, Kansas City, KS; and his sister, Delores Gunn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service on January 14,2016 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial with military honors will be held at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansas, on January 14, 2016 at 2:30 p.m.
