Charles E. Taylor, Sr.

Charles E. "Charlie" Taylor, Sr., 80, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2021.
He was born March 28, 1940, in LaGrange, North Carolina, the son of Dan and Emma (Phelps) Taylor. He graduated from LaGrange High School in 1959. He lettered in all sports. He served in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964.
Charles worked as an electrician and was employed by IBEW Local 226 for over 50 years, retiring in 2002.
Survivors include his wife, Linda R. Taylor; his children, Denise (Jeff) Drummond of Kansas City, MO, Charles Taylor, Jr. of Spokane, WA, Emma Taylor-Carreno of Topeka, Roger Taylor of Topeka and a step-son, Stephen (Starr) of Snow Hill, NC; two brothers, Ray "Pete" (Bob Wilson) Taylor of Jacksonville, FL and Phillip Taylor of Raleigh, NC; twelve grandchildren, Kristina, Kelsey, Courtney, Mollee, Colby, Issac, Emmy, Lidiya, Wyatt, Chris, Morgan, Hinson and special nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Misty Jean Taylor; four sisters and four brothers.
Charles enjoyed gardening, attending Royal Valley Panthers games and watching his granddaughters cheer.
Honoring Charles request, cremation is planned. A memorial ceremony will be held at a later date. Interment of Charles cremated remains will be at the LaGrange Cemetery in LaGrange, NC.
