Charlotte D. Kimes, 98, of Topeka died August 16, 2017. She was born July 9, 1919 in Steel, Missouri, the daughter of A.P. and Grace Denton.
Throughout her life she resided in Chaffee, MO., Pharr, TX and Princeton, MO. She spent the last 37 years of her life in Topeka, KS.
She assisted her husband, "Doc" in his practice of dentistry and was the director of the Senior Citizen Center in Princeton, MO.
She was a member of Newcomers in Topeka and enjoyed the many card groups that she played with weekly.
She married Ernest D. Kimes on August 18, 1939 in Chaffee, MO. He preceded her in death in 1984.
Charlotte is survived by her son, Terry (Judy) Kimes; her step-daughter, Marilyn Green; nine grandchildren, Leigh Ann Kimes, Carrie Kimes, Lans Green, Barbara Schwartz, Sandra Dick, Amy Eiberger, Susan Gibbons and Liza Enix. She recently was especially fond of her 2-year-old great granddaughter, Gracie Leigh Nolan.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Private interment will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
