Charlyene Caldwell, 62, of Topeka, went to be with her Lord on Friday, January 31, 2014. She was born September 26, 1951 in Leland, Mississippi, the daughter of Robert and Anna Charleston Jones.
Charlyene had resided in Topeka since 1984. She was employed as a CNA for several care facilities and the Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center before retiring due to her health. She was a member of the Shekinah Glory Worship Center and Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church.
Charlyene married James Allen, Sr. They later divorced. Charlyene married Marshall Joe Caldwell, Jr. He preceded her in death in June, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her son, Robert Jones on December 14, 2011. Survivors include one daughter, Kizzie R. Chambers and one son, James Allen, Jr., twelve grandchildren, and her siblings, Dwayne Jones, Glenda Hawkins, Annette Moore, Mary Jones and Marvin Jones.
Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Shekinah Glory Worship Center, 2300 SE 6th Ave., Topeka, KS 66607. Private inurnment will take place at a later date. Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel is assisting the family.
