Cherie Lynne Hopkins, 39, of Topeka, formerly of Emporia, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015. She was born December 23, 1975, in Topeka, the daughter of Stephen K. and Stephany (Dolezilek) Hopkins.
Cherie was raised in Topeka and graduated from Topeka West High School in 1994. She went on to graduate from Emporia State University with a Bachelor's Degree.
Cherie loved teaching kids and was employed as a pre-school teacher. She also enjoyed art and animals, especially birds and dogs. She even fostered rescue dogs.
Cherie is survived by her parents, sister, Michelle Clark-Galvan and her husband, Chris Galvan; nephews, Brennan Clark, Caleb Clark, Riley Galvin; good friend, Wes Wells; and paternal grandparents, Donald and Cleta Hopkins. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Harold and Norma Dolezilek.
Cherie was cremated. A memorial ceremony will be held at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Mission Hills Church, 17th & Indian Hills Road in Topeka.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Cherie's name at any Envista Credit Union, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
