Cherry Ingles Morgan Collins

Cherry Ingles Morgan Collins, 78, of Maple Hill, Kansas passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025.

Cherry was born November 23, 1946, in Great Bend, Kansas, the daughter of James Roy and Margaret Glover Moore. She was raised in multiple locations before graduating high school in Parker, Kansas. She often said her favorite place from childhood was living in a rustic cabin on Magazine Mountain, Arkansas, and she continued her love of older homes throughout her life. She spent many years collecting antiques and had a real flare for displaying them in her home. That flare could easily be seen in her fashion sense and love of flashy jewelry and accessories.

Cherry had a variety of careers, working as a cosmetologist, interior decorator, and saleswoman before retiring from the Post Office. She also owned several businesses selling antiques and collectibles. She enjoyed spending time working on her home and out in her yard. She was a talented artist who loved to drive around on backroads, taking the long way to get everywhere. She was a fantastic chef and really enjoyed a spirited conversation.

She married long-time partner Richard D. Collins on April 4, 2014 in Miami, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on February 24, 2017. She was also preceded by her parents, siblings Leon Moore, Opal Johnson, Louzetta Mahan, and niece Cherry Mahan.

Survivors include her son Jackie “Blaine” (Susan) Morgan; son Jay J. (Jennifer) Morgan, sister Marcia K. Collins; grandchildren Jacquelyn (Jace) M. Beightel, Michael D. Morgan, Jay B. Morgan, Oliver E. Morgan, and Sarah Davis; great-grandchildren J. Alex Blanch, Flynn Blanch, and Ella Beightel; nephews Robin (Sheri) Mahan and Cole (Ashleigh) Collins; companion Warren Hollis; other cherished family members and dear friends.

Dove Cremations will carry out Cherry’s wish to be cremated. A celebration of life will be held at the Senior Center in Maple Hill, Kansas on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 beginning at 1:00 p.m. She will be interred at the Old Stone Church Cemetery in Maple Hill, Kansas.
