Cheryl A. Forbes

February 11, 1956 — July 26, 2014

Cheryl A. Forbes, 58, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, July 26th, 2014 at a local Topeka hospital. The only child of Jack and Leota "Maxine" Forbes, she was a well known international artist and a local art instructor. Cheryl graduated from Highland Park High School in 1974 and attended Washburn University.

She was a local business owner, co-operating Unique Expressions Ceramics and Pottery along side her partner Carol Bourg. Cheryl was a judge with the KSU 4-H fair for over 15 years, and a volunteer with the Kansas Democratic Party. She retired from the State of Kansas following 30 years of service as a computer room supervisor.

Survived by her spouse, Carol Bourg of Topeka, parents, Jack and Maxine Forbes, step-son, Dennis Bourg of San Francisco, CA, step-daughter Jeannie Blakey of Lancashire, England, U.K. and five grandchildren.

A private memorial service will be held Saturday, August 2nd, 2014.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 SW 21st St. Topeka, KS 66604. Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel is assisting the family.
