Cheryl Kaye Cowen, 78, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022.
She was born February 1, 1944, in Topeka, Kansas the daughter of Raymond and Faye (Hess) Stewart. She graduated from Topeka West High School in 1962.
Cheryl was self-employed, running a daycare from her home for 15 years, retiring in 1983.
Cheryl married Gerald Cowen on July 17, 1962 in Lawrence. He survives, along with her children Todd Cowen of Minneapolis, MN, Brad Cowen (Dawn) of Memphis, TN, Michelle Cowen of St. Mary's KS and Craig Cowen of Topeka; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings Ronnie, Gary and Linda. She was preceded in death by her oldest brother Raymond Jr.
Cheryl was an avid garage-saler and liked shopping at Goodwill. She loved spending time with her family.
Cheryl was cremated. There will not be a public service but the family is planning a private celebration of life at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Piece by Piece: Levelling the Playing Field online at https://www.facebook.com/levelingthefield.
