Chester D. Feyh, 92, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at a Lawrence care facility. He was born July 26, 1921 in Alma, the son of Charles W. and Annie M. Gilmore Feyh.
Chester was an Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. He was a welder for Henry Manufacturing for many years and retired from Allis Chalmers. He was a member of Capitol Post No. 1 of the American Legion. He and his wife, Betty enjoyed square dancing with the Croco Swinging Squares.
Chester married Betty June Lippincott on February 24, 1946 in Wamego. They were married for 62 wonderful years. She preceded him in death on May 3, 2008. He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Stan McCabe. Survivors include two daughters, Janet McCabe of Lawrence and Lynn Haith and her husband, Michael of Salina; five grandchildren, Spencer McCabe and Shellie of Tonganoxie, Dacia Maher and Andy Bricker of Lawrence, Marcy and Sean McGuffie of Lawrence, Amy Armstrong of Salina, Sarah and Topher Garcia of Lisle, IL, and eight very loved great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Chester will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
