Chester F. Stouder

Chester "Chet" Franklin Stouder, 96, Topeka, died Thursday, May 12, 2005 at the home of his daughter.

Mr. Stouder was born January 14, 1909 in Eaton, Colorado, the son of John Everett and Mata Anna Teten Stouder. He grew up in Blackwell, Oklahoma.

Chet was in the newspaper business since age 13. He was employed by Capper-Stauffer Publications for 33 years as a Sterotyper, retiring in 1972.

Chet and his wife, Inez, traveled extensively after their retirement throughout the United States, Mexico and Canada.

He volunteered with many local non-profit organizations and received numerous awards and commendations for his outstanding work.

Chet married Inez Williamson on August 21, 1929. She preceded him in death on June 12, 1997.

Survivors include a daughter, Lura M. "Skippy" Andrews and granddaughter, Tamara L. "Tami" Johnson-Andrews both of Topeka.

Cremation is planned. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am Friday at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Inurnment will be in Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery.
