Chester G. Earl, 94, of Silver Lake, Kansas passed away on Monday, April 25, 2016 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. He was born January 26, 1922 in Waterville, Kansas, the son of Jay Chester and Goldie Blanch (Walker) Earl.
Chester attended Kansas University. He was an Army Veteran. He was employed as a Fire Chief at Forbes Air Force Base in Topeka and was a member of Third Christian Church.
Chester married Ellen Lorraine Dennison on February 16, 1938 in Westmoreland, Kansas. She preceded him in death on January 5, 2001. He was also preceded in death by one son, Terry D. Earl and one granddaughter, Tonya.
Survivors include one daughter, Jacqueline K. (Larry) Miller of Topeka, daughter-in-law, Pam Earl of Silver Lake, six grandchildren, Dwayne, Darlene, Marlene, Tony and Sean and a great-grandson, Dylon.
Special thanks to Karen Harrison for taking him to fun and new places, his neighbors who watched over him on Kiro Ct., to his race car buddies at Thunder Hill, the church group and a special thanks to Betty Woodard for letting her husband, Earl be there for Dad in his last difficult days. Cremation has taken place and as per Chester's wishes, no memorial services are planned. Private inurnment will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery at a later date.
