Chester H. Schwader, 88, Topeka, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2011 at Aldersgate Village.
Chester was born August 11, 1922 in St. Joseph, MO the son of Herman and Laura Schwader.
He married Donna Kingery on June 6, 1942. For many years he and his wife owned and operated Comet Moving and Storage in Topeka. They later divorced.
He was a member of the American Legion, Arab Shriners and Scottish Rite Masons and was a past member of Lowman Methodist Church.
Chester is survived by his wife Marian and daughters, Sheryl Schwader and Lyndall (Wayne) Wenger, both of Topeka, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at York Square at Aldersgate for their love and support of their father.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 24, 2011, at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Chester will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m.
