Christina E. "Christy" McMullen, 47, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015. She was born October 4, 1967, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Harold D. "Butch" Gerlach and Marjory L. (Holyoke) Wilson.

Christy was raised in Topeka, attended Topeka schools and graduated from Topeka West High School in 1986. After high school, she attended classes at the University of Kansas and Washburn University. Christy graduated from the American Academy of Hair Design in 1991 and was a Licensed Cosmetologist at Classic Hair Design from 1991 to1995. Christy then went to work as a Financial Administrator for St. David's Episcopal Church in Topeka from 1995 until 2015.

Christy married James L. "Jimmy" McMullen on July 30, 1994 at Central Congregational Church in Topeka. He survives. Christy is also survived by her children, Ashton Leigh Corber (Tyler) and Trevor James McMullen; granddaughter, Harmony Elise Corber; brother Dean Gerlach and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Christy enjoyed photography, art and spending time with her friends and family. She was gifted with, and touched many people's lives with a beautiful smile and laugh.

Christy was cremated. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Garfield Shelter House 1600 NE Quincy, Topeka, KS 66608.
