Cindy Lou LaForge, 62, of Topeka, passed away Monday, December 20, 2021.
She was born June 5, 1959, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, the daughter of Marvin and Bonnie (Bredow) Thiel. She graduated from Highland Park High School in Topeka.
Cindy was employed by Wal-Mart as a jewelry associate for 23 years.
Ms. LaForge was a member of Good News Church of Topeka.
Cindy married Gregory LaForge on May 15, 2010 in Bath, New York. He survives, along with her children David Sheets and Karen Swanson of Shawnee; grandchildren Della and Xander Swanson; her mother Bonnie Thiel; siblings Connie Carreno, Barbara Lawson, Lori Schoon, Carrie Bates, Dave Moseley Jr, and Marvin Thiel Jr. She was preceded in death by her father Marvin Thiel Sr. and friend Dennis Sheets.
Cindy enjoyed getting together to play card and board games, her grandkids and garage sales. She was an active member of her church, helping out with day care on Sundays.
Cindy was cremated. A memorial ceremony will be held on Monday, January 3rd at 2:00 PM at Dove Cremations and Funerals Southwest Chapel, 3700 Wanamaker Road in Topeka. The family will receive friends for an hour before the service on Monday, January 3rd at Dove Cremations and Funerals Southwest Chapel. Private interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Avenue in Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society 5720 SW 21st, Topeka, KS 66604-3720.
